Bite-Sized Scrapbooking

Back at the beginning of April, I signed up for Bite-Sized Scrapbooking. I found Bite-Sized Scrapbooking (BSS) through Twitter and I'm SOOOO glad I did. Kim at BSS has a great way to get easy, pretty layouts done each week without the stress that comes with wondering how to get started (and it's only $5 a month!!!). Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday you're emailed a new "bite". The first "bite" tells you the size of the photos you'll need and gives you encouragement to think about journaling. The second "bite" lets you know the supplies you'll need to gather and includes specific sizes for papers and journaling. The last "bite" shows you how to put it all together and even includes a sketch of the layout to help get you inspired.

I am so far behind in my scrapbooking and really need to crack down and get things done for some of my clients and this helped tons. Check out the first page I was able to make using the BSS system. It really took the stress out of everything and came together very quickly.

This is a memory album for one of the BF's aunt whose husband passed away several years ago. I'm very pleased with how the first page turned out.

Creation Mondays

Some sad news...I've decided to forgo Creation Mondays for the foreseable future. The number of people linking up has declined considerably and never really picked up in the first place. I'm really disappointed n this because I LOVE seeing what everyone comes up with. Hopefully in the future, when my blog is a little bit bigger, I'll be able to start it up again. Thank you to those who participated last week. Check out what they created below:

Bird Table Revamp @ City Girl Gone Coastal
Spring Earrings @ Eye Spy DIY

Powder Blue Nautical Dress @ Dame Design Studio

Hoo Are You Tuesdays

NightOwlCrafting

It's time for another Hoo Are You. If you haven't done this before, I encourage you to play along. So here are the questions for this week:

1. What are your plans for Easter?

I normally go to church and spend time with the BF's family. This Easter falls on the 4 month anniversary of my dad's passing so I'm sure it'll be more somber than normal.
2. Do you die eggs for Easter?
Since I'm kid-free, I don't. I did when I was younger though.
3. What is your favorite Easter candy?
I LOVE white chocolate bunnies.
4. Do you celebrate the make believe part of Easter and/or the religious part?
Since I don't have kiddies and I'm a little bit older now, I celebrate the religious part. I'm sure when I have kids, I'll get back into the make believe part.

5. What is your favorite part about the Easter holiday?
Church. Unfortunately, Easter is one of the few times I actually make it to church and I love the service. I like the music and seeing everyone in their Easter best!

Cards of the Month - March

I received my March Cardmaker Kit-of-the-Month. I am absolutely in love with the colors of this month's kit. These are actually the colors in my living room! This month the theme is "get well soon" and the technique was card folding. I was only able to complete two of the cards before I left for my cruise but I like the way they came out. They are definetly unique and not your average card. There are the two I completed:

365 Days - My Life Through Photographs: Days 92 - 97

Day 92: Looks like a certain someone thinks he's going on vacation with us!

Day 93: It was such a beautiful day that we got our exercise in and played some tennis.

Day 94: My coworkers convinced me that I needed my eyebrows done...so during lunchtime I got them threaded.

Day 95: The beginning of my stress over whether we'd be going on our cruise.

Day 96: Got these to go with my dress for the curise. I LOVE them.

Day 97: While I'm stressing out all day over a government shutdown, these two are taking naps.

Inspirational Thursdays

Sigh...is this not one of the most beautiful, functional craft rooms. I'm so jealous. Jenn from Clean & Scentsible is the lucky crafter who gets to use this space. I love seeing other crafters spaces because they give me so many ideas for my own space, which I am still trying to piece together.

So...are you inspired?

Guest Blogger: Lacey from Lacey Bug Creations

A special thanks to Lacey for being today's guest blogger!

Hello! My name is Lacey Igo. I live in Moorhead, MN (across the bridge from Fargo, ND) and I'm excited to be sharing a piece of me today!

A bit about my crafting background. I have been crafting my entire life. My mom has always done artsy things and I just followed in her foot steps. I am a scrapbooker, knitter / crochet, photographer and I sew (amongst other random craft things). I sell my knitted coffee cozies on Etsy at LaceyBug Creations. I love making them and have no need for hundreds of them sitting around my house so I sell them and give them away as gifts. I have also recently introduced an item to my Etsy shop called "Hair Candy" (Grecian headbands).

A huge part of my crafting life is scrapbooking. As a kid, I would add decorative borders and descriptions to my photos and then I found out there was actual "scrapbooking". I have always been one to take MANY photos, so it was only natural to start scrapbooking. I was the girl in high school who took 18 rolls of photos on a Concert Choir trip to Colorado (I think it was a 4 day trip). AND we had 8 rolls of film from prom one year. Obsessed. So the next step was to make those pictures look pretty in a scrapbook. My scrapbooking has reached into my adulthood (if you want to call it that) and I currently an independent consultant with MemoryWorks (that is how I met Sasha!!) and I serve as the Design Team Leader for MemoryWorks.

Now to share some projects with you. Here is a 3.5" x 5" frame I made for this blog post. It features one of my FAVORITE topics - my nephew! I purchased the frame at Target for under $2.00. Created a mini layout using the NEW Crate Paper: Portraits collection (6x6 paper pad). This project took less then 30 minutes to create and will look fantastic in my craft room, living room or bedroom.

I love working with 6x6 paper pads. You can use them to create layouts, altered projects and mini cards! They are also inexpensive and you get a great paper selection from the specific line you are buying. Below are a few cards I created using BasicGray Origins Collection (a few years old).

Feel free to stop by my blog for more projects and inspiration I've created. And a big thanks to Sasha for letting me post to your blog! Hope you are having an amazing time on your vacation! (Yes, I'm jealous).
