Crayon Art

You guys voted for my next project and the result came back with this - Crayon Art! This is easily the most fun I've had with a project. And it's oh so simple. I got one of those cheap $1 crayon boxes from my local craft store and used a canvas I had. The most time consuming part was taking the wrapping off of each crayon. I am IN LOVE with how it came out. So, because you guys did an awesome job picking out my last project - help me pick out my next one! Let me know what you think of the Crayon Art and then vote for my next project! Thanks in advance for the help!

Don't forget to vote on which project I should do next! Here are the Pinterest inspired choices:

My Next Project

I don't know about you guys but I am ADDICTED to Pinterest. If you haven't heard about Pinterest, I suggest you go check it out. Pinterest basically serves as my vitual inspiration board. Any and everything that I find that inspires me I can pin to my boards for later reference. And therein lies the problem. I have tons of crafts that I want to try on my Pinterest Crafts board but I don't know what to try first! So, I have decided to turn to my lovely Creations By Sasha readers for some help! You guys haven't failed my yet. So please, vote for the next craft you think I should try and then I'll post the result in a later blog post. I plan to do this from time to time, to I appreciate the help in advance!

DIY Drink Coasters

I finally took something I saw in Pinterest (which I am addicted to, by the way) and decided to do it myself. And I'm super happy I did. These coasters were SUPER easy to make. All it took was four 4x4 tiles, scrapbook paper, mod podge, clear bumper pads (for the bottom) and some clear spray paint. I am in love with how these came out. And I'm pleased to say that I'll be offering these (in more designs too) on my new website Creations By Sasha - more on that coming soon, I promise. What do you think?

1. Do you exercise regularly and what do you do?
I do now. It's taken me a long time to get into it. I don't go to the gym though. I take zumba and pilates which i enjoy way more than running on a treadmill.

2. Do you have any weird sleeping habits?
Not really. We have a standard 10pm bedtime and most nights I get to sleep pretty easily.

3. How often do you vacuum?
Not often enough. I probably do it once every two weeks but since I have cats, I should do it more.

4.Do you accessorize and if so what is your favorite thing to accessorize with?
Not as much as I want to but I am trying to get better at it. My favorite accessory is my earrings.

5. What is your favorite drink during the summertime?

I'm not really a special drink kind of gal. I find that during the summertime the best thing to drink is water.

A Special Anniversary

Today is a special anniversary for my and the BF. It is one of the last ones we'll get to celebrate before we get married next year and then we'll have a brand new day to celebrate. Today makes eight years for us. When I was 16, I never imagined that my high school boyfriend would end up being the person I'm walking down the aisle with. Sure, I use to scribble down Mrs Future Such-and-Such on my notebook when I was bored, but what high school girl doesn't do that. I consider myself extremely blessed to have found my soul mate at such a young age and I honestly cannot wait to tie the knot with this guy.

Cards of the Month - July

Since it's only August 3rd, I wanted to hurry and post my Card Kit of the Month for July. As you can probably tell, the theme for the month was "Christmas in July". The technique for this month was doing special closures for the cards so each card has a different way of keeping the flapped down. I'm ok with how the cards came out. They aren't really my style because I tend to lean towards more adult looking cards, but I think these would be perfect to give to my nephews and god daughters (maybe with a little money inside).

1. What is your favorite craft or type of craft and if you are a crafter how did you get into it?
My favorite craft is cardmaking. I started as a scrapbooker in high school but I've figured out that I'm much better at making cards even though I like scrapbooking as well.
2. What shows have you been watching this summer?
I actually haven't been watching a lot of shows this summer. I'm waiting for the fall season to start back up so I can watch Bones
3. Who does the yard work at your house?
Since we live in a townhouse there isn't much yard per se. The BF gets a neighborhood kid to cut the grass because - yes, we are that lazy.
4. Are you working on any projects inside the home or outside this week?
I haven't done any home improvement projects lately. I've been really focused on getting my business ready to launch (more on that coming soon!)
5. Do you have to worry about getting ready for back to school?
We're kid free and since I graduated last May from grad school this is the first time no one is in school. It's heaven.
