Apologies & Advice

First and foremost, I want to apologize to all for being a really bad blogger lately. I do have tons of things to post but I've have a very busy past couple of days. But there's a good reason why. I promise. Do you wanna know what that good reason is??? Ok, I'll let you. It's because I got ENGAGED!!!!!! Yep, that's right, the good ol' BF finally popped the question after almost eight years of being together. I am more than excited and I've jumped right into planning everything. We're going for a Septemeber wedding in 2012. And this is where they "advice" part of this blog post comes in. Anything I can do myself to make this wedding as inexpensive as possible, I'm going to do. I've started with invitations. Below is my first try and some invitations and I wanted every one's opinion on what you guys think. Our colors are going to be red and orange (a fall theme). So, good, bad, any tips, ways to spruce it up. Anything. Please tell me what you think. Can't wait to hear every one's thoughts!

Hoo Are You Tuesdays

Here we go with this week's questions:

NightOwlCrafting

1.  What is your favorite thing cooked on the bbq?
I'm a simple kind of girl, I just like hot dogs.

2. How do you celebrate Memorial Day?
We normally travel around to various cookouts. Lots of good food and family and friends.
3. Do you like your handwriting?
I like my cursive writing. Sometimes I like my printed handwriting but I have different styles. It's kind of weird actually.
4. Do you still have your tonsils?
Sure do. I never really had sore throat problems or anything like that.
5. Do you unite your shoes when you take them off?

Nope. I just slide those puppies on and off.

Inspirational Thursdays

I missed Inspirational Thursdays last week...so I'll just get right to it this week. These come thanks to my sis-in-law who sent me a great link. These spring wreaths are all from EcoDiva.

Since spring is officially here (at least in the DC Metro area) these are great additions to your front door. They are sure to liven up any neighborhood. So...are you inspired?

Hoo Are You Tuesdays

NightOwlCrafting

I really cannot get enough of these things! I love all the questions. So let's get to them:

1. What type of diamond cut do you like?
I don't really have a preference. I don't know any of the names but I like square ones.

2. If you are married when is your anniversary. if not what month would you like to be married in?
I'm not married but I've been with the BF going on 8 years. Our "anniversary" is August 4th. Whenever we do get married, I'd like to keep the date the same so he doesn't have to remember a new one, or change it to Sept. 21st which was my dad's birthday.

3. What were or would you like your wedding colors to be?
I would love to have a red and silver wedding.

4. How many bridesmaids did or would you have at your wedding?
I really don't have too many girlfriends, so it depends on how many groomsmen he would have. I'm assuming somewhere between 2-4.

5. How long have you been married?
How I wish I was married :( But like I said I've been with the BF for 8 years to we're getting there!

365 Days - My Life Through Photographs: Days 98 - 125

So I just realized I haven't posted any of my "365 Days" pictures. So here they go (sorry in advance for the number of pics...I've been WAY behind).

Day 98: Packed and almost ready to go on my first cruise!

Day 99: I love this picture. These are the elevators in the lobby on the ship.

Day 100: It's like prom all over again. Formal dinner night on the cruise.

Day 101: Watching the beautiful sunset.

Day 102: Getting ready to go cave tubing in Belize!

Day 103: A sunken ship in Roatan Island, Honduras.

Day 104: The beautiful waters of the Cayman Islands.

Day 105: Our last towel animal of the vacation (a dinosaur).

Day 106: That second red line is our delayed flight.

Day 107: This is only my load of laundry...there is more.

Day 108: Looking at scrapbooking inspiration at work...

Day 109: My FABULOUS shoes! I love these but if you could see the heal, you'd understand why I was driving barefoot.

Day 110: Taking a pic with my new camera of my old camera that broke on vacation.

Day 111: A coworker of the BF's on her wedding day. Her dress was gorgeous!

Day 112: Saving big bucks on the grocery bill!

Day 113: Celebrating Easter with the family.

Day 114: On my way to work - this is supposed to be a river but today it wasn't even visible.

Day 115: A scapbook page that I'm making for the BF's aunt. I LOVE the way it came out.

Day 116: Time for an oil change. I can't believe my car has this many miles on it.

Day 117: Passing the stadium on my way to moms house. You can see the capitol in my rearview mirror.

Day 118: Making baby shower invitations. Putting everyone to work!

Day 119: Future training for when I'm a mom (way, WAY in the future). My god daughter at her soccer game. Her team won!

Day 120: One of pet peeves. This corner is never clean :(

Day 121: What I woke up to. It was all over the news ALL day.

Day 122: Clearly I'm getting better at Call-of-Duty. Even though I'm in second place I beat a coworker of the BF's!
Day 123: Received the email that had this picture of my dad's engraved headstone. Caught me completely off guard. Still doesn't feel real...

Day 124 - Got my We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy set in the mail today. I was too excited to use it.

Day 125: The Mother's Day card I made for my mom.

Changes are on the way

I'm not sure if most of you are aware, but I've been in the process of trying to create a business. Since the beginning of the year, I've been working on a website. Hopefully, the website will go live in June/July. That's my goal. Part of my new website will link to my blog - which I am in the process of moving to WordPress. I've heard a lot of good things about WordPress and I'm excited about making the switch. My goal is not to lose any of my followers so please bear with me as I begin to make the transition. The blog will have a new name but I'm hoping it'll be easy to take everyone with me as I make the switch. I'll keep you updated on the progress.
