Baby Brag Book

I know, I know. It's been a while since I've posted. I've been super busy and honestly, slightly lazy. I still have my next project to work on but in the mean time, I finished a baby brag book for a client of mine. I made the whole album using the Fancy Pants Baby Mine collection. I love the way it came out. It's a 6x6 album with spaces for her to insert her photos. And I must say, I'm also a little proud of the slideshow I made. I figured uploading all the pictures would take too long, so I made a little mini movie instead. Check it out below.

Baby Albums Part 2

So I finally finished a baby album for a client of mine. Her daughter Krystal, is two years old, so it's actually a good time to have some pics together in an album. Previously, Krystal's mom has only had pictures of her precious daughter on Facebook. Now, through this album, Krystal (and her mom) will have something they can look out without having to log on to a computer.

In an earlier post, I showed images of the album without any pictures or embellishments. Below is the finished product. This album is an 8x8. I make most of my albums digitally and then go back and use physical embellishments. What do you think?

Layouts

In an effort to scrap faster, I decided to try a new approach to my digital scrapbooking. Normally when I make a scrapbook for a client, I do one page at a time until it's complete. That means choosing background papers, elements, pictures, and finishing touches. When I do it this way, it normally takes me a loooonnnnggg time. I've been working on one scrapbook for almost a year doing it this way. I finally figured out that this is just NOT working. So for the baby album I'm creating for a client of mine, I decided to try a different approach. I got the idea after purchasing "Scrapbook Page Maps: Sketches for Creative Layouts" by Becky Fleck. She also has a great website with new sketches every month.

After browsing through the book and punching out the handy dandy reference cards that come with it, I decided to try a new approach to my scrapbook. Instead of finishing one page at a time, I've decided to just do the layout with simple embellishments first. Once I finish all of the pages, I will go back and add the pictures, a few more digital embellishments, and finally some physical paper embellishments. These are some of the layouts I've done so far. They are all double layouts, meaning two 12x12 pages. I purchased all of the elements from ScrapGirls

By scraping this way, I've been able to complete about one layout an hour which is WAY faster than I've done in the past. I scrap for about an hour a day so at this rate, I should be able to finish this album by the end of the week. I will definitely continuing using this technique going forward.

Baby Books

So I've been working on this baby album for a client of mine and I just finished the album cover. For this album, I used American Crafts 8x8 Modern Album in Chestnut, a BoBunny Peacock Lane rub-on, and some flowers from Petaloo (Fairy Wonderland & Winter Wonderland). The ribbon, papers, and tag came from my local scrapbook store. I sometimes find it a little difficult to design baby albums since I'm not a mother myself. Most of the time, I go off of colors or themes that my client has expressed. In this case, purple was the color choice. Let me know what you think.
