Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays to all my ~The Life of Me~ readers. It is my hope that everyone gets to enjoy their family and friends on this holiday. Unfortuntely, my holiday won't be as expected. My father unexpectedly passed away yesterday morning so our Christmas is not as joyful this year. Please make sure that everyone you love knows how you feel about them. Tomorrow is never promised for anyone. Merry Christmas.

Big News!

I know I haven't posted in a while but it's because I've been working on some big news for my lovely readers (aka you!). I'll be starting a linky party! Aren't you as excited as I am?!? I've been looking around the blogsphere for several months now and I'm so jealous of all the creative folks out there. My new weekly linky party will give everyone a chance to display and share all the great stuff they create! Now I'm still in the planning stage right now but look for it starting sometime after Christmas. And because I love my readers, those that link up to my first party could be in for a special treat! Keep checking back for more details!

My First Time Being a Vendor

So I know a while back, I went on and on and on about a show I was going to be a vendor at. I was super excited and was hoping that I would actually be able to sell some of my things. But then I never mentioned it again. And here's why...the show was a bust. I put a lot of effort into preparing for the show since it was my first, but it was all for noght. The way they advertised to sellers and buyers was completey different. To sellers, it was advertised as a craft fair, but to buyers it was advertised as a yard sale. I was literally sitting next to four guys who looked like they had emptied their closets of old clothes and shoes. Here's where this becomes a problem. They (and many other folks) were selling things for .50 or $1.00. My items retail for $3 - $20. When you advertise something to buyers as a yard sale they are expecting bargin basement prices. So unfortunetly, no one stopped by my table or looked at what I had :( But I have taken it all in stride. Check out the pics below that show my booth and some cards I created for the show.

Inspirational Thursdays

It's time for another Inspirational Thursday. Today's question is just right for the holiday season:

What's the best gift you received as a kid?

The best gift I remember getting was my first bicycle. I have no idea how my parents managed to hide it from me but I remember waking up and running to the tree and there was this big thing covered with some type of Christmas plastic thingy. I couldn't wait to ride it. It's a fond memory.
