A Special Bday Card

I can finally post the birthday card I made for my "sis-in-law". Yesterday we celebrated her birthday (even though her actual birthday is next week) so I was able to give her the card. I won't say how old she's turning but since I know she reads the blog, I'll just say that she's the hottest, youngest, and best "sis-in-law" I have! Hope you enjoyed your day yesterday and your special day this week!

P.S. Since my SIL is a blogger herself, head on over to her blog, Journey to Green, to learn how to live a healthier, greener lifestyle!

Inspirational Thursdays

Ok, ok. I know it's not Thursday, but I just got back from vacation (from sunny Florida!) and I didn't want to deprive you of inspiration. So here's hoping that you're inspired!

More Cards!

So I leave for vacation in 2 days and I'm super excited! I have so much cleaning and packing I have to do before me and the BF leave but I did set aside some time this morning to finish the last two birthday cards on my list. I finally finished the birthday cards for my dad and "sister-in-law" (but I can only show my dad's because the SIL reads the blog!). My dad will be 49 next Tuesday and I really wanted to make something fun for him. I'm finding it more difficult to create "manly" cards but I loooovvvveeee how it turned out. What do you guys think?

Me: The Abridged Version Part 3

A couple of months ago I signed up for a class over at Big Picture Scrapbooking and today it started! I'm actually thinking about signing up for more classes in the near future because of their amazing selection. I wanted to show off what I've done for this class so far. The class is called "Me: The Abridged Version". It's a 4-week class and by the end of it, I should have an encyclopedia-type scrapbook that describes different aspects of me, from my point-of view. Each letter will have an entry with something that I feel describes some aspect of my life - important people, places I love, or things I love to do or can't live without. I'm doing this project as a digital scrapbook but it can be done by hand. At the end, I plan on getting it printed and bound as a photo book. I wanted to share my first page. Although I haven't chosen what I want to write for the letter "A" and have no pictures yet, I'm pleased with what I have so far. What do you think? Would you do something like this for yourself?

Today's post will be a little bit different. Instead of a quote, I'm going to pose a question that could give you some ideas about what to scrap about. Hope you're inspired.

What can't you imagine living without?

Anniversaries and Birthdays

I think I'm making headway on my card-to-do list before I leave for vacation. Today I was able to finish my parents anniversary card (which may be their 29th and not 30th), the birthday card for my co-worker and for my BF's mom.

This is the anniversary card. I wanted something very simple. I think it could have come out a little better but overall, I'm satisfied with it.

This is the birthday card for my coworker. It's for a guy so I tried to make something a little more masculine.

Lastly, this is the card for my "mommy-in-law" (my BF's mom). For her, I went in the other direction and wanted something soft and feminine.

I would love to hear everyones opinions! Let me know what you think.

And congratulations to Stephie C. who entered the Paisley Passion giveaway and won! I'll be contacting you soon Stephie! I hope you love your prize.

Baby Shower Gifts

Today I'm attending a baby shower and I finally finished the baby shower card (at 11am and the shower is at 2!). I know I've been procrastinating but I just haven't had time to do anything productive. So that you can see what kind of scrapper I am, this is what my area looks like before I sit down and start crafting:

This is more tame than usual. I actually went through my stash and picked out things that would go along with the baby shower theme. I found out in advance that the colors of the shower are pink and purple so that's what I used for my card. The baby's name will be Karter, hence the "K" on the card. I also tried to get the gift bag in the same colors. What do you think?

Halloween Ideas

Halloween is my favorite holiday (yes, I do consider it a holiday). It's the perfect excuse to dress up for absolutely no reason at all and have some fun. Since I've moved away from home, I have started going all out for the occassion. Last year was the 1st Annual Halloween party at my house and this year will be even bigger and better! It's never too early to start planning your decorations so I thought I'd showcase some fellow ethusiastic celebrators and some great ideas they've come up with so far.

Halloween Jars @ Demi Ciel
Halloween Wreath @ Write It Down
Halloween Blocks @ Crafting for My Sanity
Halloween Treat Jars @ Sassy Sites!
Halloween Goody Bags @ Elle's Studio

I really hope your feeling inspired to go out and start decorating!!!!
